The entire screening process lasted from late October to early January, involved several psychological and medical tests, and lots of blood draws for both Lori and Benes. After the final test, Benes was declared a match.
The fall semester at ߲ݴý University officially began Monday, August 26. But first year students in Karla Jensen’s liberal arts seminar, “The Liberal Arts of Yoga,” started their academic year early learning the historical, psychological, economical, and political aspects of yoga.
They started on Sunday, August 18 with a class on basic breathing techniques.
߲ݴý University is responding by launching a new Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree. The degree will be offered through the university’s Wesleyan Advantage Program, which is geared for working adults.
When ߲ݴý University junior Ross Mumford agreed to be a student co-instructor in Sheryl Rinkol’s Liberal Arts Seminar, he had a lot of enthusiasm for teaching, but only average knowledge of the course matter: Boarding the Ship of Dreams: Sailing Across 100 Years of Titanic.
This summer, nine students and two faculty headed back to San Miguel Milpas Altas, Guatemala, where they joined the organization Constru Casa in constructing two houses for local families.
