Several ߲ݴý University students are joining their professors for short-term study abroad experiences this summer including a tour to Ireland by the University Choir and Symphonic Band.
Fred Ohles, President of ߲ݴý University, awarded degrees to approximately 565 undergraduate and graduate students during ߲ݴý University’s 126th annual commencement held Saturday, May 16.

Two ߲ݴý University students have each been awarded the prestigious Boren Scholarship, which will send them abroad for one year to develop language skills.
Edson deOliveira, a senior biology major from Omaha, has won a Boren Scholarship to study in Brazil, and Brenda Maldonado, a senior French major from Sargent, has won a Boren Scholarship to study in Senegal.
The 2014 ߲ݴý University graduate will live and work in another region of the former Soviet Union — the country of Georgia. A Fulbright Scholarship will provide Jackson the opportunity to teach English there and further study the Georgian language.
